Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Names Charles Munkonge Luo Non-Executive Director Following Board Changes
Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Kenya has appointed Charles Munkonge Luo as a non-executive director, bringing nearly two decades of experience in banking advisory, corporate governance, risk management and infrastructure investment to the lender’s board.
The appointment took effect on June 25, 2026, the bank said in a board announcement.
Charles Luo joins the board during a leadership transition that also saw three long-serving non-executive directors retire after completing their respective terms, marking one of the lender’s most notable board changes in recent years.
He succeeds to the board with experience spanning audit, financial services, strategy, governance, transactions and business transformation across East Africa, Southern Africa and the United Kingdom.

Charles Luo holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of London.
He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

His experience covers audit, financial reporting, governance, strategy, risk management, transactions, regulatory compliance and organisational transformation.
He also led Deloitte’s Financial Services Institutions Team, advising banking and insurance clients on assurance, regulatory compliance and financial reporting requirements.
Board changes at DTB Kenya
Charles Luo’s appointment comes as DTB Kenya refreshes its board following the retirement of three long-serving non-executive directors.
The departing directors are Moez Jamal, who joined the board in December 2009 and served for approximately 16 and a half years, Irfan Keshavjee, who served for about 11 to 12 years, and Guedi Ainache, who had been a board member since April 2017.
During their tenure, the three directors served on several board committees overseeing areas including risk management, audit, compliance, innovation and technology.
DTB thanked the outgoing directors for their leadership and contribution to the bank over their respective terms.
