DigiTax UAE 2027

How DigiTax Plans to Help UAE Businesses Meet 2027 E-Invoicing Rules

DigiTax has launched operations in the United Arab Emirates after receiving pre-approval from the UAE Ministry of Finance to operate as an e-invoicing Service Provider, as businesses prepare for mandatory digital invoicing requirements starting in 2027.

The global e-invoicing technology company has opened a new office in Dubai and started recruiting local employees to support its expansion and expected demand from businesses preparing to comply with the UAE’s Electronic Invoicing System (EIS).

The company is hiring for sales, account management, customer service and technical support positions, alongside tax and compliance specialists.

DigiTax said its UAE operations will help businesses transition to Federal Tax Authority (FTA)-compliant e-invoicing while maintaining their existing accounting and financial systems.

The company’s entry into the UAE comes as the government advances its digital transformation agenda through national and emirate-level initiatives.

The UAE Digital Economy Strategy 2031 targets an increase in the digital economy’s contribution to gross domestic product from 9.7 percent to 19.4 percent. The country’s We the UAE 2031 strategy also includes a Forward Economy pillar focused on digital transformation across the government and private sector.

UAE E-Invoicing Requirements

The UAE’s e-invoicing framework is being introduced ahead of mandatory digital invoicing and reporting requirements that will take effect in 2027.

Enterprise-scale businesses with annual revenue of AED50 million and above are required to comply with the digital invoicing and reporting requirements from January 1, 2027. Other businesses will follow from July 1, 2027.

The Electronic Invoicing System uses PINT AE, a Peppol international billing standard, alongside a five-corner Continuous Transaction Controls model.

Under the system, businesses will exchange and validate digital invoices through an FTA-approved Accredited Service Provider (ASP), replacing the use of paper invoices and basic PDF documents as the primary means of invoicing.

DigiTax is also a Peppol-licensed business and has received pre-approval from the Ministry of Finance under the FTA framework to provide e-invoicing services.

DigiTax Targets Businesses Preparing For Compliance

DigiTax will provide the technology layer connecting businesses to the UAE’s e-invoicing ecosystem, including the recording, transmission and automation of invoices.

Its technology can integrate with existing accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems through more than 50 API-ready integrations.

The company said the approach is intended to allow businesses to meet FTA requirements without rebuilding their existing finance systems.

For businesses without sophisticated accounting or ERP systems, DigiTax also offers a browser-based dashboard for invoice management, visibility and automated reporting.

The use of structured invoice data can also provide businesses with information that can be used to monitor operations, cash flow and relationships with suppliers and customers.

The company said the technology is designed to reduce manual work for finance teams as businesses transition to digital invoicing.

DigiTax Expands Uae Workforce

DigiTax’s UAE launch includes the establishment of an on-ground team, with the company recruiting employees who can support businesses across sales, account management, customer service, technical support, tax and compliance.

Ahmed Farouk, DigiTax’s UAE Director, said the company had already begun hiring in the country and expected to recruit additional staff as its operations expand.

“We are already hiring here in the UAE and will need more top talent over the coming months to support our growth,” Farouk said.

He said DigiTax’s experience in international markets would support its UAE operations, citing security, ease of use and customer service as key elements of its approach.

The company will provide support in both Arabic and English.

DigiTax’s International Expansion

Founded in 2022, DigiTax provides e-invoicing and tax compliance technology to businesses in different markets and currently serves thousands of customers daily.

The company said it has processed more than US$208 billion in invoices to date and has a presence across the Middle East and Africa.

It expects to expand into 10 additional international markets in 2026.

Its customer base includes government partners, family offices, multinational companies, ERP and point-of-sale vendors, auditors, accountants, consultancies and businesses operating across sectors such as construction, e-commerce, finance, fast-moving consumer goods, logistics, manufacturing, technology and transport.

The UAE expansion adds a new market as companies prepare for the phased implementation of mandatory e-invoicing.

DigiTax CEO and co-founder Caine Wanjou said the company would support enterprises and entrepreneurs as the UAE advances its digital transformation agenda.

“It’s a privilege to launch in the UAE, a country that is deeply admired around the world for its forward-thinking,” Wanjou said. “We are looking forward to supporting the many exciting enterprises and passionate entrepreneurs that fuel the UAE’s continued growth.”
