Safaricom has been recognized as the Top Employer 2025 in Kenya and Africa, marking the fourth consecutive year it has achieved this prestigious title.

This certification, awarded by the Top Employers Institute (TEI), reflects Safaricom‘s exemplary Human Resource (HR) policies and people-centric practices, solidifying its position as Kenya’s leading employer.

The Top Employers Institute, a global authority on excellence in people practices, evaluates companies through an extensive review of six HR domains covering 20 areas.

These include People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity & Inclusion, and Well-being. Safaricom’s consistent focus on these pillars has once again earned it the distinction of being a preferred workplace in Africa.

“We are pleased to be recognized as a top employer alongside some of Africa’s biggest companies. This certification is an endorsement of the strong employer brand that Safaricom has created over the years by providing an agile working environment and numerous opportunities for employees to grow in their chosen crafts.” said Dr. Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom PLC.

The Top Employers Institute Certification Programme, established over 30 years ago, has validated and certified over 2,400 companies in 125 countries and regions across five continents.

This year’s programme highlighted the resilience of leading organizations amidst rapid technological, economic, and social changes.

David Plink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute, commended Safaricom and other certified companies.

“In a time of rapid change—where technological, economic, and social factors continually reshape our world—these extraordinary times bring out the best in people and organisations,” David said.

“This year’s Top Employers Certification Programme showcases the resilience of the certified Top Employers 2025, who consistently prioritise the growth and wellbeing of their people, as they enrich the world of work. We are proud to celebrate these people-first leaders and teams as the Top Employers for 2025!” he added.

Safaricom shares this milestone with Vodacom Group and its subsidiaries in South Africa, Mozambique, and Tanzania, which were also recognized as Top Employers 2025.

First certified in 2022, Safaricom has consistently demonstrated a dedication to enriching the workplace experience. Its sustained efforts to foster growth, inclusivity, and well-being among employees make it a benchmark for excellence in the corporate world.
