Raimond Molenje Appointed CEO of Kenya Bankers Association
The Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) has named Raimond Molenje as its Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2024.
Raimond Molenje, who has been serving as Acting CEO since March 2024, brings extensive expertise to the role, having over 19 years of experience in legal and regulatory affairs, human resources, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
Since joining KBA in 2018 as the Director of Legal, Human Resources, and Policy Advocacy, Raimond Molenje has been instrumental in shaping policies and advancing advocacy initiatives within Kenya’s banking sector.
In his new role, Raimond Molenje will spearhead KBA’s strategic direction, emphasizing industry advocacy, sustainability, capacity building, training, and fostering key partnerships.
His leadership is expected to enhance the sector’s focus on responsible finance, Kenya’s climate action goals, and sustainable development.
KBA Chairman and NCBA Group Managing Director, John Gachora, expressed confidence in Molenje’s appointment, praising his contributions.

Raimond Molenje’s career includes leadership roles at De La Rue Currency & Security Print, the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE), Equity Bank, and the Rural Electrification & Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC). He has also practiced as a civil and commercial litigation advocate.
Beyond his duties as KBA CEO, Raimond Molenje serves on the Auctioneers & Licensing Board under the Attorney General’s Office and represents the banking industry on the Judiciary’s Mediation Accreditation Committee.
He actively participates in task forces and working groups focused on advancing Kenya’s socio-economic development.
Raimond Molenje holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and an International Diploma in Human Resource Management from Cambridge International College, UK.
He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
