
KCB Group CEO Paul Russo Honored in Global MB100 for Sustainability and Innovation Excellence
Paul Russo, KCB Group CEO, has been named among the 2024 Meaningful Business 100 (MB100) honorees, a prestigious global award recognizing leaders for their exceptional contributions to sustainability and innovation with a positive societal impact.
The Meaningful Business 100 award celebrates CEOs and entrepreneurs who drive transformative initiatives in their organizations, balancing profit generation with meaningful benefits for society.
Paul Russo’s leadership has positioned KCB Group as one of East Africa’s most innovative banks, emphasizing financial inclusion, environmental sustainability, and community development.
During Paul Russo tenure, KCB Group has rolled out advanced digital banking solutions, expanded financial access to underserved communities, and incorporated environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its core operations. These efforts have cemented KCB Group’s reputation as a leader in impactful banking solutions across the region.
This year’s MB100 winners were selected from over 850 nominations across more than 80 countries. A panel of 30 expert judges from esteemed organizations, including Google, the United Nations, the Rockefeller Foundation, Mastercard, and Temasek, evaluated nominees based on their innovative approaches and sustainable practices.
As part of the recognition, MB100 winners gain access to a year-round program that offers a global peer network, investment opportunities, capacity-building resources, and pro-bono services. The program is supported by organizations like Hogan Lovells, Babson College, Green Frontier Capital, and Kenya Climate Ventures.

Other Kenyan leaders celebrated in the 2024 MB100 include Lucy Mutinda, CEO of EcoCycle; Camille Rebelo, COO of EcoPlanet Bamboo; and Biju Mohandas, Partner at LeapFrog Investments. Their inclusion highlights Kenya’s growing influence as a hub for impactful and sustainable business practices.
Tom Lytton-Dickie, Founder and CEO of Meaningful Business, commended the honorees for their dedication to tackling critical social and environmental challenges.
