Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Africa now have access to an integrated digital payment solution, following a partnership between Odoo and Network International.

The collaboration allows merchants to process both card payments and mobile money directly within the Odoo business-management platform, streamlining operations, reducing payment friction, and supporting the region’s ongoing transition toward digital commerce.

Odoo and Network International simplify payment systems for SMEs in Africa by offering a single platform for managing business operations and processing transactions.

This removes the need for separate payment terminals or third-party integrations, enabling SMEs to accept M-Pesa, card payments, and other mobile money services directly within the Odoo interface.

The integration is currently available across East and Southern Africa.

Patrick K. Lukusa, Managing Director of Odoo Kenya, said the partnership gives merchants a flexible tool that meets customer preferences.

Judy Waruiru, Regional Managing Director for Eastern Africa at Network International, added that the integration combines ease of use with robust security and compliance.

The Odoo-Network International payment integration is especially valuable in countries like Kenya and South Africa, where digital payment usage is expanding due to high mobile penetration.

It simplifies onboarding, allowing merchants to activate payments with minimal technical setup. This is expected to improve adoption among SMEs with limited IT capacity.

The solution also tackles checkout abandonment, a major challenge for African SMEs, by supporting multiple payment methods and reducing friction during transactions.

In addition, it includes real-time dashboards that give merchants visibility into sales trends, transaction performance, and customer behavior, helping them optimize their payment mix and improve conversion rates.

Timely settlements and automated reconciliation within Odoo’s accounting system improve cash flow management, a critical need for SMEs operating on narrow margins. Built-in fraud protection tools ensure compliance with regulatory standards, helping SMEs reduce exposure to financial risks.

The Odoo and Network International SME payments partnership also positions businesses for regional growth. With support for cross-border payments, SMEs can serve customers in multiple countries using a unified system.

This capability aligns with Africa’s growing demand for cash-lite, interoperable digital solutions.
